As we creep closer to spring, I get excited about the upcoming photo shoots with babies … families… children… where they offer me the chance to capture life. So many are outside – even when we need to stay in the studio I still take time to show each personality.

Any mall or store nowadays has a photo booth – as I call them. You go in – you sit with the same background everybody else has (you may have a few choices) and you gets protratits that memorialize a face… not a life.

I prefer to meet at homes … go along on family outings … take children to parks… make them be silly in the studio … anything to create memories that shows who children are or the heart of families. or the loved new baby.

I love to share when that has happened – when life is shown… when you can see, from a photograph, a bit of who this person is, what brings them joy!
Layla was full of joy that day - showing Life … not still life!

One thing I love about Layla is her toes. She is cute and cuddly already but when you see those little toes all scrunced together as she walks toward you – it’s enough to make you pick her up and snuggle her till she laughs. I recently went with Layla to a park where she put on a tutu to match her ballerina toes… and the fun began.
Not one to sit still for any time, she took off and made me run for pictures. A few quiet moments were found on the park bench before she was off again.

It has been said – somewhere – that the reward for being a good mother is having grandchildren. This year has certainly been one of reward for me. Thomas and Layla grew so quickly and bring joy to me each time I see them. Iris was born in late September and has quietly wound her way into my heart! To have this great gift of being a grandmother is so wonderful – truly does fill a space in my heart. As 2009 has closed, I wanted to share a look over the past year in pictures of my grandbabies. It has been a full year – can’t wait for what is to come in this new year… new decade!

As I start 2010 I looked back on the year in faces through our studio. It was a year of changes as we moved from a storefront in the middle of Historic Norcross to our 2 acre studio just around the corner on Sunset Drive. I have several days worth of faces to show all of the fun we had with everyone who gave us the opportunity to serve them with photography! Here are the highlights from the babies… families and individuals who brought joy to Seitz Photography Studio!

Netta and her family came into the studio just as the sun was reaching the golden hour. Meeting everyone was like greeting old friends. She and James have a love for each other and for their children that glows in their faces. Netta found me through a review on Kudzu.com and came with the goal of getting photographs that showed their joy.
Canon – their son – was a perfect model. He smiled and laughed throughout – hamming it up when needed, loving his little sister, Camille and letting her hang on him for the pictures.

When we lost the sun and came inside, Camille was done with sitting down. She wanted to explore and James and Netta were delighted with the pictures we got from that time. Canon – sitting in place and smiling confidently – with Camille peeking around him when she felt like it. We all laughed as memories were captured of these precious children.
Always great to photograph new faces, it is wonderful when I hear how much their session brought them exactly what they wanted. I am always grateful when someone takes the time to write a referral and am happy to share with you the delight Netta felt by offering you her words:
“The photos Beth took of my family were breathtaking! Every single picture was amazing!! I knew after reviewing Beth work our family photos would be good, but they exceeded my expectations. Beth was very kind and patient with our young children and the pictures of them reflects how happy they were during our session. If you are looking for an extraordinary photographer that catches every great moment and every priceless expression…look no further. Thank you Beth for mastering your craft your work is priceless. We look forward to working with you in the future!”
Enjoy this happy month – make sure you offer lots of hugs to all your loved ones! ~ Beth

November21st
If you have little children you know that the phrase in the familiar Christmas poem – “Not a creature was stirring…” is not true when it comes to holiday fun. At a recent Moms Meet Up group, I photographed several of the young babies there for holiday portraits – enjoying all of the movement as moms endeavored to have their sweeties sit still for a second – or two. As you know my style of photography is “Life… not still life” and these images show the fun of letting babies show their joy while I capture pictures to prove it. If you recognize them you will know they are 2 of my 3 grandbabies – Thomas and Iris. Iris, as you will see, is content to let Thomas illustrate his joy for these pictures. She is, at least for now, not stirring.
Have a great weekend! ~ Beth

Just got back from Florida. The warm sun, running to the beach, walking with my granddaughter, visiting with family, ocean breezes… Each day was wonderful.
The first day I was there I walked Layla’s neighborhood with her and we talked about all the funny & interesting things she saw from her stroller. There were times she tried to stand up a la Kate Winslet in the bow of the Titanic and she smiled as she enjoyed the ever changing views.
Layla and I decided that I would take pictures of everything that we thought was interesting. I promised her I would continue to do so on my side trip to the Keys. So, Layla, this blog is dedicated to you. Here are our pictures. Thank you for the pat hugs, for blowing me kisses, for laughing when I danced to Sesame Street, and for so much joy. I miss you already – can’t wait to plan my next trip to see you again.

6 month sessions are my favorite sessions of our bebé program. There’s nothing quite as cute, as a smiley, giggly 6 month old baby.
Isabella is definitely no exception. Though it took some work to get the smiles, Beth captured some great images of Isabella and her parents.
Not a smile, but still adorable…

I think this one is my favorite.

Happy Monday!
